About This Event / Session

Effective collaboration leads to many benefits, including increased employee engagement, flexibility, efficiency, creativity, and productivity. Many work teams now consist of three to four different generations working together.

This workshop will introduce characteristics and differences of the following generations:

  • Traditionalists (born before 1945)
  • Baby Boomers (born 1946-1964)
  • Generation X (born 1965-1980)
  • Millennials (born 1981-2001)

Participants will learn about the unique perspectives of each generation and the similarities among the generations. The main sources of conflict for multi-generational teams will be presented, and a process will be introduced for teams to work through these conflicts to get better results. In addition, research on the characteristics of effective teams will be explored.

Scenarios will be presented to allow participants to apply the process that helps multi-generational teams understand each other and work as a more cohesive team.
